Feeding

We are both passionate about working with a dog’s natural ability, in order to achieve a polished and confident working companion.

We expect a lot from our competition and working dogs.  They are expected to be calm yet attentive one minute, then needing to produce fast bursts of energy and stamina.  We have found the foods that work for us,  both when we are at home and easy to manage when travelling.

When puppies arrive we feed AVA puppy food.  We also feed minced chicken with sweet potato and spinach available from “they love it” raw dog food.

The adult dogs are fed twice a day.

We use Kronch Agility for one meal and raw minced chicken carcass (they love it – raw dog food- online)  for the other.  We can add veg to the raw according to the season.

We have found it difficult to feed raw when we travel as defrosting can be a fine art, so we take cans of Millies Wolfheart with us instead.

The reasoning behind why we feed as we do,  is that in order to get consistency in the vitamins, minerals and oils we need the science behind a good kibble like Kronch, but that the dogs also need the bone and flesh which they digest at a different rate.
